SPIRIT 1.0 PLUS features gearbox free design and optimized motor structure. The high quality brushless DC motor with a max efficiency of 90% helps SPIRIT 1.0 PLUS achieve an overall efficiency of more than 50%. And without gearbox, this electric outboard motor will greatly lower - even eliminate noise and save maintenance troubles that often bother the owners of gas outboards.

Self-contained Design
The battery locates on top of the outboard to save valuable space for the boat. Its self-contained design makes it easy to replace a backup SPIRIT PLUS Battery on board with 2 simple steps if the original one is running out of power.

Real-time Display
This smart screen keeps you informed of all essential information you need to know during the journey. Real-time voltage, power and remaining battery is indicated as primary parameters.

Easy to Connect
Only 2 steps are needed to have the battery installed. First, place the battery on battery base. Then plug power cable into the power socket on battery.

Foldable Tiller

I purchased the ePropulsion 1.0 Plus Short Shaft, and am loving it! I upgraded from my previous 55lb thrust trolling motor for my tender, and it is better in every way. No more heavy batteries, cables, difficulty charging, etc. This thing just works, and is so light! The battery fits in a backpack and charges overnight so you can go out back to back days. Speed is also about 3x as fast as the 55lb trolling motor, and the battery lasts much longer also. I’m very happy with the purchase. Also, Josh was extremely helpful, answered all my questions, and responded to emails promptly. If you are in the market for an ePropulsion, Josh is your man.

We love our Spirt 1.0 Plus. When we tested it I thought something was wrong because it was so quiet, not even a hum. Easy to load onto our dinghy and goes forwards/backwards with gusto. We also loved working with RJ Nautical on the purchase. Due to Covid there were some shipping problems but Josh was responsive to all our questions and never gave us the runaround and always answered our phone calls and emails quickly even when the news was about a delay. We will work with RJ Nautical again on future purchases.

We purchased an e-propulsion Spirit for our 15' daysailer and we love it. Easy to use, no fuel to mess with, and quiet - doesn't kill the sailboat vibe. RJ Nautical was great about communication and got the motor to us in the time promised when we ordered.

I purchased the E-Propulsion for our Rescue boat on our small lake for our rental services. Easy to assemble and I took it out in a full on head wind of 30mph and I was successful in getting across the lake in a mock rescue We will be buying 3 more in the next few months sapphirevalleyresorts.com. .

Lightweight and plenty of power. Quiet and lightweight enough for 71 year old to transport and use.

Just did a basic test of the motor today and was impressed with the sound level and the quality of the product. However, giving it 4 stars because of the entry level charger that is included. Lithium battery charges have advanced far beyond what is included with this product so there is no reason to not have real-time cell monitoring, a storage charge feature, and voltage information with a simple LCD screen. When I'm trying to monitor my charge status at home, there is no reason I should have to go to my boat and install the battery on the motor to read the battery voltage ... that's just dumb. Anyway, looking forward to a smart charger from Epropulsion or, at least, a device that will let you monitor cell voltage.

Quiet, efficient, maintenance free! May’s been running for years. My only complaint is that the “short shaft” looks like a long shaft to me. If you can swing for the backup battery your worries on the after will melt away.

Great product, well made, and delivers performance, convenience, portability, and QUIET! Would earn 5 stars except for two aspects: 1) tilt mechanism does not allow for prop to be completely out of the water; 2) Short shaft is still quite long, too long actually. Would opt for EXTRA short shaft if you think you need a short shaft. But in terms of performance, the Epropulsion met all my expectations. Not only is it quiet, but the fine control for docking is well beyond anything that a gas outboard can deliver. Starting/stopping, etc., is completely silent and effortless. Reverse too. Also impressed with battery life as well as chargeability: we use this on a tender, replacing a larger Yamaha gas outboard. On my initial 5-day trip using the Spirit 1.0, I operated the unit to go to shore or across a bay two to three times per day, for 5 days, and only used 40% of the battery. Sitting on anchor, running my generator for one hour, I charged 15% of the capacity back up. Running the boat, charging via my alternator, I completely charged to capacity (from 60% balance to 100% balance) in running the boat 2.5 hours. Battery life seems so good, and charging so efficient, that I will not need a 2nd battery which was a concern/consideration. Lastly, I enjoy wildlife photography, and the ease of use combined with near-silent operation allows for proximity to wildlife for shooting pictures that would not be attainable with a gas outboard. Highly recommended!
